How Transactions Work with Different Types of Wallets

In this section, you'll learn how to use your wallet to place bets during a challenge. Here's a breakdown of how transactions are handled with various wallet types:

  1. MetaMask:

    • Setup: Ensure MetaMask is installed as a browser extension or mobile app and is connected to the Base network.

    • Placing a Bet: When you place a bet, a transaction request will pop up in MetaMask. Review the details and confirm the transaction. The gas fee will be deducted from your wallet balance.

    • Transaction Confirmation: MetaMask will display the status of the transaction. Wait for confirmation on the Base network.

  2. Trust Wallet:

    • Setup: Download and set up Trust Wallet on your mobile device, and connect it to the Base network.

    • Placing a Bet: When placing a bet, Trust Wallet will prompt you to authorize the transaction. Confirm the details and approve the transaction. The gas fee will be deducted from your wallet.

    • Transaction Confirmation: Trust Wallet will show the status of your transaction. Ensure it’s confirmed on the Base network.

  3. Ledger:

    • Setup: Connect your Ledger hardware wallet to your computer and open the Base app on your Ledger device.

    • Placing a Bet: When you place a bet, you’ll need to confirm the transaction on your Ledger device. Follow the prompts to review and approve the transaction. The gas fee will be deducted from your wallet.

    • Transaction Confirmation: Ledger Live or the relevant Base network explorer will show the status of your transaction. Confirm that it’s completed.

  4. Other Wallets:

    • Setup: Follow the instructions for your specific wallet to connect to the Base network.

    • Placing a Bet: When you place a bet, your wallet will prompt you to authorize the transaction. Confirm the details and approve the transaction. The gas fee will be deducted accordingly.

    • Transaction Confirmation: Check your wallet or an Base network explorer to confirm the transaction status.

Always ensure that you have enough funds in your wallet to cover both the bet amount and transaction fees before placing a bet.
